  1. Shifting the context of information graphics is also addressed in Ellen Lupton’s book, Design, Writing, Research. The essay, “Language of Dreams” plays, although not as humorously, with the literal and symbolic interpretations of visuals. (pictograph, ideaograph, rebus, syllabary, alphabet)
